Nashville

We had been planning to go to Nashville to visit Megan and Kori since they came to see us in Atlanta, and we finally got around to it. It was around 5 hours drive one way, which is a little intense for a weekend trip, but we got to drive all the way through the Blue Ridge Mountains and over the French Broad River. Knoxville was also along the way, but we didn't see all that much of it from the car windows beside their kind of insane looking gold disco ball building (apparently it was built for the 1982 world fair.)
When we arrived at their apartment we immediately got ushered over to the house where she was dog-sitting, because according to her it was on the cooler east side of town, and had more room for all of us. The dog was named Hazel and was a brindle pit bull. She was very sweet and never barked the whole weekend.
We went out to dinner at a place called Hawkers, which just based on the name you'd probably never guess was an "Asian street food" restaurant. We liked the aesthetic which was dim with Asian-themed neon lights. Brian got a free beer because none of the workers cared to keep track of the one he ordered while we were waiting to be seated.
During dinner Megan regaled us with the story of how the previous Saturday she had somehow gotten so drunk on "champagne with a shot of vodka in it" that she couldn't walk and was vomiting at the bar. She seemed disturbed because according to her she never allows herself to lose control of her body, and was confused as to how she got that drunk from the amount she had. So basically, this story was meant to explain why she wasn't going to be drinking much or at all during our visit.
Everyone seemed to be tired after this, so all we did for the rest of the night was hit the minimart for some beer, and play the card game Phase 10. But we didn't even finish the game because Phase 10 takes so damn long.
