Burnt Rubber

We went to one of the many local H.E.B. grocery stores to do some food shopping. It turned out that this particular location catered very much to the hispanic residents. There were some cool traditionally hispanic foods that were prepared there daily. We didn’t buy much there since they didn’t have organic produce. We did get a stack of fresh, warm tortillas though. We also saw this “Butter Tortilla” candle that Erika heavily considered buying.
Later, we checked out The Brewtorium, a German-style brewery, and sat in their backyard area. We both got their “Mark It 8 Dude” beer which was a smoked altbier. It tasted deep and smokey and we liked it a lot. Brian got a soft pretzel with cheese dip and Erika got sides of the house-made sauerkraut and smashed potatoes. The beertender there was a flamboyant man who was loud, made constant jokes, and had a weird raspy voice. He was nice, though.
Afterwards we hit up a place right nearby called Drink Well. We also ordered some fries. We went to an AB Liquor to grab some seltzers. We had this brand before, that we originally bought from Orange Market. We had only tried their original “ranch water” flavor and thought it was just okay. However, this “Bramble” (blackberry and lemon) flavor was HORRENDOUS. It tastes straight up like burnt rubber. It’s actually crazy how spot on it is. We couldn’t even drink this flavor, it is so bad. Currently, a month later from this date, we cracked open the last remaining one just to remind ourselves just how bad it truly was. Still completely terrible, and undrinkable.
