Butler Metro Park
Sep 25, 2021 | Austin, TX
We started the day of jogging at a part of Butler Metro Park where there were lots of dogs running around in the field. The city skyline looked really nice from there and we found a statue of Stevie Ray Vaughn and took a picture for Brian’s dad. We saw a weird sculpture of a head on the sidewalk on our way to the park. We got lunch at another food truck area that had a vegan coffee truck and a vegan food truck called Vegan Nom. We got a multitude of breakfast tacos which are an incredibly popular food item here in Austin.
We went to the Barton Creek Square mall and both bought a shirt or two. In the evening, we checked out Cain and Abel’s. Then we went to Moody’s where we got alcoholic slushies. As we were walking home from Moody’s we heard music and tried to follow the sound. We were spotted by the bartender of Moody’s who was very nice and friendly. She showed us around to the front door of Hole in the Wall, which was right next to Moody’s. They had a live band playing in their back patio area that was really good. We took pictures in the photo booth there and walked home a little while after that. We discovered that the party that the frat guys were setting up for was now in full swing. It was absurdly packed with people. Brain tried to get in but they weren’t letting anyone else in. People tried hopping the fence and sneaking in. Brian met a group of nerds outside of the frat house and they all decided to try going to a different frat party across the street and got in. But as soon as they were in, one of the nerds (who was in crutches) needed to pee. When the group tried to walk into the house, it was realized that they weren't actually invited and they were kicked out of the party. Brian snuck away from that situation and didn’t get ejected at that moment. But after hanging out a bit longer, he eventually was :(
