Settling in

We settled well into our apartment and both really liked it. We noticed there was a market on the bottom story of our apartment building called Orange Market. It is very convenient but also packed full of items with narrow walkways. They have free coffee every day. There is another Orange market just 1 block down and has a lot of vegan options, surprisingly. Although, most items weren’t priced so we often paid too much or just skipped buying whatever it was. We went for a walk to a nearby café called Lucky Lab Coffee Co. and had our first experience with the common local birds here, called Grackles. I threw them a piece of my orange and they picked at it. We also saw a huge beetle and found out it was called a squash beetle. We went grocery shopping at Wheatsville Co-op and got our first box of Big Swig and they had tons of different vegan donuts and food options. We also bought our first two cans of “ranch water” at Orange market to compare two of the brands.
